Shoji-Style glass art panels; seen in the Dallas Modern Luxury Magazine; September 2006 issue.  I was commissioned and created this piece for a local designer, Alicia Connelly, for one of her clients who did not want clutter on his shelves.  The solution?  16 pieces of heavy glass by a process of engraving and painting.

The first picture on this page belongs to the above magazine article.  It is actually the house Terence Newman bought recently; Alicia's client lived there before that.  There are currently 7 of my pieces spread throughout his house; which is sooo cool.  He's a super sweet guy too. The two door hardware pieces directly to the right of the Dallas Modern Luxury Magazine cover were sculpted by me.  One is a bronze door back plate , with a herd of elephants sculpted on it; the head of the elephant on in front of the line is comes out and his trunk turns into the door lever.  The piece next to that is a door pull, which looks like a Griffin. Here they are up close; the elephant trunk is on backwards; didn't notice that till now.  The Griffin; a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle... this one is special, because I made his head look more like a lion; I sculpted another one with the head of an eagle.  This Grffin, or Gryphon, is cast out of pewter.  I sculpted both of these for a local designer.

This clip aired on channel 8 news; how sweet is that!  Terence just barely moved in, so all the artwork is still not up, and his fridge is empty, but heyyy... it's already pretty exciting.  Can't wait to see the house when he's actually all in and set up. I went to Las Vegas with Ozzie, a buddy of mine; we were just leaving "KA" when I ran into Chuck Liddell.  He was so gracious and I look like a big dork; which I was at the moment.  This picture is up here for Dallas (who happens to live in Dallas too) and his better half (who is working on the cure for cancer, so that makes her fabulous); he's a mixed martial artist, so he can appreciate this photo moment ohh so much. I sculpted, cast and finished these angel wing sconces for a local designer... I also did the mirror.  I sculpted the bronze backsplash; it's of a Poseidon type face.  Now this is the interesting part... the water flows out on his tongue.  There are Venetian type dolphins on each side of his face, which turn for hot and cold water control.

As I mentioned before, I do have a day job; so here it is... this is my other talent (shhh... I design ironwork for Potter Art Metal Studios in Dallas, TX)  It's a wonderful experience.  I not only get to design all sorts of wonderful stuff, but also have a say in how it's made.  Richard Potter, the owner of the company is a really cool guy who, and like me, likes to get into the "interesting" type of metalwork and design... we just love, love, love it when we get such projects.  All the ironwork is hand forged by a group of wonderful guys who know what they're doing and are  not afraid of red hot metal.  That mantle the guys are starting on when this video was being made is actually done and I got to design it for Trammell Crow; hopefully I'll have a picture up really soon.
